Who Am I
Programmer
I enjoy programming very much – it is a science, craft and an art simultaneously. I am most interested in the following areas:
- Programming langages – above all their design, but also implementation of compilers and interpreters. I even wrote a series of articles about JavaScript interpreters (in Czech).
- Problems of the software engineering as a whole – I like when programs are not only working correctly, but they are also well written, readable and maintainable. I often think about ways how to reach these goals and I try to study what others have discovered in this area.
- Web applications – I came to the web somewhat incidentally and gradually. It suits my unpatient personality because everything can be done very quickly there. My current job is in this area – I work on SUSE Studio, a pretty complex distributed web application.
Former CS Student
I studied software systems at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague. During the studies I was also teaching a bit. At the end I wrote quite interesting and difficult master thesis.
Occasional Writer
On the high school I co-created a school magazine, later I have written a series of articles mostly about programming in Delphi and today I occasionaly write something into my notebook or for various local servers. All these writings are in Czech.
